What is CHM
CHM CBD is an acronym for the Clearing-House Mechanism of the Convention on Biological Diversity.
The main goals of the CHM CBD are especially:
1. cooperation - the promotion and facilitation of scientific and technical cooperation
2. information exchange - the development of a global mechanism for exchanging and integrating information on biodiversity
3. network development - the development of the CHM Focal Points and their Partners.
The aim of CHM is not to publish the entire database or complete information in full range, but to cluster information and references for easier obtaining and searching data by users. This site is primarily designed for the expert public to obtaining information (metadata) concerning various issues of biodiversity conservation in national and global scale.
